“I have been a member at Gymbox for 4 years and I knew Jayne worked with clients from there, so I followed her on social media. I saw Jayne’s personal progression as well as training and diet methods used by both her and her clients and was intrigued. I have now been training with Jayne for 3.5 months.

I wanted to gain muscle and lose fat. Jayne’s training methods that I saw on social media appealed to me and to see that she would create manageable lifestyle plans was a bonus.

Jayne has addressed all my goals and even though I have been training with her for only 3 months, I have seen huge progression, enabling me to get closer to my goals, quite quickly. It really helps that Jayne is incredibly knowledgeable, smart and really understand how the human body works.

Jayne has also had me recognise my strength. She has worked to help me build strength and actually help me realise how strong I am. She has pushed my strength and fitness levels way beyond what I thought I was capable of.

Jayne has a very friendly and real approach. She has a good focus on form and helping you to realise your ability without being like a drill sergeant. I really enjoy our sessions together, and still look forward to them even though I know it may be tough.

I have lost 8% body fat and have shrunk inches in 3 months and that is with a weeks holiday in between and getting used to my new food lifestyle in the very beginning. I am hugely happy with what I have achieved so far and am looking forward to getting stronger and losing more fat in the months to come.

I have learnt that you can have a balanced lifestyle, without having to sacrifice too much. Also to lose body fat doesn’t mean you have to go hungry! Im a foodie so this is very important to me 🙂 I wanted a plan that I could follow for life and adapt my whole lifestyle and this to me is something I feel I could follow for years to come.

I think that my sessions with Jayne are the best! I look forward to them, no matter how tough and always have fun. She is always attentive, bubbly, open and supportive. And most importantly she is incredibly smart and knowledgeable and very inspiring.”

“Jayne and I started working together in February 2017 as I wasn’t changing my gym routines very often and needed some advice around nutrition.

To be honest I was expecting some generic routines and maybe a couple of meal plans but I was very wrong… Jayne has given me tailored workouts on top of our PT sessions, tailored macro plans.

She has been so supportive in and outside our sessions, and actually coaches and is available to talk / advise on a daily basis. In our sessions, she focusses a lot on proper lifting techniques that minimise injury and maximise gains.

Since working with her my bodyfat has dropped to an all-time low of under 13% my weight is under 79kg for the first time in years and I feel stronger and look better than I ever have!

She has proved to be a brilliant choice for PT / Coach and I highly recommend her!!”

“I started online training with Jayne 5 months ago. Jayne was recommended to me by a dear friend. At that time I didn’t understand the importance of nutrition for training and didn’t realise I was accidentally starving myself by focusing on limiting calories and not the bigger picture, I was overtraining, feeling exhausted and defeated as I wasn’t seeing any results, generally I was pretty miserable as I felt I was sacrificing everything and getting nothing in return, I hated going to the gym – it just wasn’t fun anymore.

Jayne sent me a nutrition plan to follow and a training program…within a week I felt the difference, my energy levels were sky high, I felt satisfied after every meal, and my training, well I saw a massive improvement. I have finally got definition in the areas I had previously struggled with and I am stronger than I ever have been. I’m not saying I have been an angel and stuck to the nutrition plan 100% but throughout the entire journey Jayne has supported me 100% without making me feel like a failure or guilty for having that naughty meal (or entire tub of nut butter!!).

I cannot recommend Jayne enough, if you love your food, want results and 100% support by someone who lives and breathes this stuff… pick up that phone!!!”

“I started training with Jayne at Gymbox in April 2014. At the time I met Jayne I was struggling to lose weight. I was extreme dieting using the Cambridge diet products, although the diet works it only works short term and it’s not ideal to train at the gym whilst on the diet due to consuming only 600 calories a day.

Jayne encouraged me to come off the diet and provided me with a diet plan with lots of useful tips plus delicious recipes. Within a short space of time (approx 6 weeks) I managed to lose over a stone and my body strength was improving week by week training with Jayne. My worry was maintaining the weight loss as I have always been a bit of a yo yo dieter however for the first time in my life I managed to lose weight and maintain it, it’s been over a year now.

I have learnt a lot from Jayne regarding diet and training techniques, she has shown me you don’t have to starve yourself to lose weight I eat things like pancakes , protein puddings , ice cream , peanut butter and high protein meals and enjoy it, plus Jayne has shown me effective ways to train in a shorter space of time for results.

I really enjoy training with Jayne we train using weights (no cardio) it’s amazing how my body shape changed in a short space of time and how much stronger I have become. Jayne is extremely knowledgable and knows how to get you results. “I have a long history of physical fitness, training and personal training – and not all good! I’m now in my mid 50’s and along the way I’ve done some amazing things (inter-services cross country running and cross country skiing, Land’s End to John O’Groats on foot and on bike, and the Marathon de Sables) but these have taken their toll – decreased mobility being one. I also have the lifestyle of someone who appreciates a decent bottle of wine! The last thing I wanted was a twenty something year-old trainer who didn’t appreciate the limitations of an aged body. Then I met Jayne. What initially attracted me was her writing, which was intelligent, made sense to me, and what she wrote was backed up by evidence/science. She doesn’t just write like that, she trains like that. In the six months I’ve worked with Jayne (twice a week) I’ve seen a marked increase in strength and mobility. Each week I’ve recorded ‘personal bests’ in one or more activities, and I’ve been able to return to the office and function. Other trainers have occasionally left me too exhausted.

Training with Jayne isn’t a ‘macho’ experience. Yes it’s hard, but it’s not too hard. I’m a gnarled old brute, and I thoroughly enjoy training with Jayne. And she makes me feel a decade younger. What’s not to like.”

“I have experimented with many workout programs & online coaches that gave me a boost for a month or two, but I would end up losing motivation because it became boring. I had been looking for an online coach that would treat me as any other client in the gym and would not give me a cookie cutter program. Jayne was the exact coach I was looking for after I came across her instagram page and read other testimonials. She has been extremely hands-on and has tweaked my programs according to what works best for me. Jayne has also been understanding of hurdles that are inevitable when it comes to life in general such as work priorities, illnesses,etc. These things happen, but her program is built to become a long-term lifestyle, not a short-term fix and this is what I love about her coaching. I am in the financial services industry where I am constantly having to eat out with clients and at events and she understands that hitting my macros 100% of the time is just not feasible for me. “Jayne was recommended to me by my old personal trainer, who was no longer located in a convenient location relative to work. As before, I needed intelligent functional training as I was recovering from a stress fracture in a foot and desired a change in lifestyle as well as body composition. I did not want to be THAT guy, who needs to occupy more than one seat space on the train. I feel fortunate to have found someone that lives by the same philosophy that they preach and is passionate about what they do.

I have trained with her twice a week for over a year. Throughout this period I have managed to permanently lose weight (over 13kg) and fat, whilst gaining muscle. This has only been possible with her encouragement and support. This has enabled me to work through my little “niggley” injuries that has improved my balance as well as strength. This has encouraged me to be more active overall and achieve a better quality of life.

She focuses on what you need to improve on in a balanced holistic way and is demanding as needed. I do get the feeling that she knows the limits of my body better than I do. However, she is also sympathetic as to the difficulties of how to balance a training regime with a demanding career and temptations of modern life. Putting in the work in away from the gym is probably as important as the time spent working out. This is where and why her approach is especially effective, despite my odd moments of weakness!”

I can’t believe the 8 weeks are over! Quickest 2 months I have ever felt whilst being on a ‘diet’ plan!

There were definitely moments when I did struggle with the nutritional side to things in particular. Having a birthday over the 8 week period, and other social plans arranged, always made me fall off the plan slightly and I admit that I would find it difficult to get back on it following these days. However I found that Jayne was still extremely supportive and allowed me to be flexible, and it was great to realise that you can still enjoy yourself and have a cheeky cheat every now and again but stay on track for your goals. That was most important for me, because I absolutely LOVE my food and hate to restrict myself from the things that I crave…especially when you’re training so hard.

Considering that for the 8 weeks you are training alone and don’t actually have anyone physical around you whilst training or meal prepping, I never actually felt alone which was surprising. The training programme was well planned and explained so that I felt I could follow it independently, anything I was unsure of Jayne would happily explain, and having the Facebook group helped share information, training videos, and tips between all the girls.

All in all I am really glad I did this! Jayne has been amazing throughout! SO supportive of every situation, provided me with motivation when I’ve needed it, but most importantly honest! She has given me with the best advice and helped me take small steps in changing my diet and working harder towards my goals! I am really proud of myself and don’t feel like I have had to restrict myself at all… it’s been a win win for me really!

Training has always been part of my DNA. I used to be endurance athlete in my younger years, participated to national selections in rowing some 20 years ago. Then discovered two passions: Thai boxing and alpinism. I call these two disciplines complementary as they require regular training in order to get decent upper body strength, balance, endurance, power, speed… So, I’ve been training daily, working hard, trying to improve my performance and also fight back against ageing (damn, never thought I’ll write this :))…

Then I started training with Jayne (questioning myself whether she could add something new to my trainings), and it completely changed my game. I gained in endurance. In strength. My progress has been incredible. On my last climbing expedition in Argentina I felt being almost a superhuman ! Being so incredibly strong and fast, carrying a 20+kg backpack at very high altitudes, even compared to male climbers. After Argentina I went ice climbing in Ben Nevis in February – I would have never been able to deliver similar performance before, my upper body strength was incredible, my balance noticeably improved. Such a satisfaction !

Jayne is an absolute maniac about correct technique. Jayne knows when and how to challenge you. Jayne does not let you just stand, chill out and chat – she will always make sure you work hard enough to get results. But you also need to bring your best to these trainings. Make sure you are committed. Be focused. Always accept her critique, and listen carefully to her advices. That’s how it works. And it feels absolutely fantastic.

“Jayne has been guiding my training for about six months and we bonded really quickly over our most obvious commonality- being Asian!- which also meant she understood how much cultural pressure there is for the female body to look a certain way back home. Having battled with an eating disorder for almost a decade, it is easy to regress to thinking of food as the enemy rather than fuel: Jayne introduced me to macrobiotic nutrition and I certainly do not look at food in the same way anymore. Thanks to her, I started focusing on nutritional value rather than calories. What makes Jayne a unique personal trainer is her ability to inspire change without condescension- she truly cares about the individual and wants to see them improve. She definitely lit a fire under me to push myself in the weight room and I still hear her yelling at me in my head when I’m working out by myself- “MORE WEIGHT WOMAN!!”

Jayne is an outstanding motivator. Everybody wants results overnight but Jayne has helped me enjoy the journey in making me realise what my body is capable of. Each week she has made me feel more confident and stronger and her diligent approach to form and technique means I have built power and shape without any pain or injury. She is inspiring in her own competitive drive to beat the best out of me. I have always considered myself athletic and sporty but I have now realised that I have much greater capability and opportunity by applying specific focus. Despite the hard work, sessions with Jayne are always fun and rewarding and with key results in mind. Never say Never …

The catalyst for going to the gym was needing a spinal block and being told by a specialist that I would need one every year.
Under Jayne’s care I have strengthened my core sufficiently not to need another and rehabilitated almost 100% a serious coccyx injury.
I can lift overhead which have not done for 15 years since a ski injury, I have massively improved flexibility and more importantly had fun in the process.

We now have a new PB almost every session and I guess sweat a lot.

Jayne is very good at fixing bodies.

“Jayne is a fantastic PT and I cannot recommend her highly enough.  She understands her clients, their strengths and weaknesses, goals, bodies, habits etc. such that she creates a tailored, sustainable and fun programme. She knows when to praise and encourage and when to give some tough love, which makes her a great motivator. She is very professional and organised, but also really good fun.

I came to Jayne with back pain and very poor flexibility. She has incorporated a lot of mobility exercises into my programme, which has obviously helped with my back pain and flexibility but also made a significant difference in my weight training. “Having followed Jayne on Instagram for a number of years and being in constant awe of her own training and dedication, I finally decided to sign up to one of her lifting workshops last summer. Although I had been lifting for a few years, I came away from the workshop feeling so much more knowledgeable, comfortable, and confident. I was really inspired by Jayne’s method of teaching and the way she was able to make us all feel so empowered, so I decided to take the plunge and sign up for online coaching – something I hadn’t done before.

As a full-time student, cost was definitely something to consider, but I can honestly say I cannot recommend it enough – signing up has been the best thing I’ve done for myself in a really long time. “Let me start off but saying Jayne Lo is one of the best in the industry and you will only need a little while with her to realise this. I had a multitude of injuries but really wanted to get into weight lifting and had been searching for a PT for such a long time.

I had tried 4/5 different ones from all backgrounds but ended up distrusting them all. I lost faith in the industry in general, thinking that most trainers lack knowledge and apply a “one size fits all” approach for their clients; I often ended any PT session with my injuries feeling 10 x worse.

One day, I saw Jayne coaching in my gym and was amazed at her attention to detail and safety. I went home and looked her up on Instagram and got in contact straight away about meeting to start training. I was a bit sceptic at first but after a few sessions I couldn’t believe that I was actually managing to train with her without my injuries hurting. Every time any movement was painful, she could adjust it for me easily – why could no one else do that? But one step further, she has completely now got rid of all of my injuries with careful and meticulous muscle building in a safe and controlled manner. I honestly cannot believe it; I never thought I would see the day. It took a few months of hard work and listening to her about not running before I could walk but now I am strong, injury free and a lot happier.
